Dr. Dexter McKenzie, is the
Democratic Party candidate for the
45th city council
district, covering East Flatbush,
Flatbush, Carnasie, Flatlands and
Midwood.
Many of you already know of Dr.
Dexter McKenzie’s work in Haiti and
on behalf of Haitian-Americans here
in the United States.
Dr. Dexter McKenzie has been
visiting Haiti for many
years, standing shoulder to shoulder
with Haitian Brothers and Sisters in
the flood waters after the
hurricanes bringing food, medicine
and health care to the people of
Gonaives, Fond Verrette and Citi
Soleil.
Dr. McKenzie has worked on programs
to provide services for deportees to
ease the impact on the fragile
social fabric of the country.
And he has helped to create a
program to provide no-interest
micro-loans to small farmers
assisting them to get on their feet
and feed their families.
Here in the US, Dr. Dexter McKenzie
remains a loyal advocate for
“temporary protected status” for all
Haitians and the stopping of all
deportations as well as English as a
second language programs for
schools.
In the name of justice and fairness,
Dr. Dexter McKenzie will continue to
fight for protection of immigrants
from fraud and abuse while
supporting programs to help with
assimilation into the American
culture.
No other candidate can claim this
level of service to the Haitian
community.
